We have worked with Te Puni Kōkiri supporting their organisation’s learning and development for over a decade.

The project we have worked on range from a suite of e-learning modules on Health and Safety through to support to embedd protective security requirement through activities and an emergency response flipchart.

A key element of our work with Te Puni Kōkiri involves storytelling. When we worked with the team on a module for the Privacy Act 2020 we first took some time to workshop with them around what privacy looked like from a Te Ao Māori point of view.

The concept quickly emerged that looking after people’s privacy was acting as kaitiaki. It was about protecting what was important to people. This led to us introducing the module in this way and generated illustrations that centered around a secluded pool protected by a range of forest guardians (kaitiaki).
