Project

Officials training

Swimming New Zealand wanted to develop an officiating pathway to provide clarity and consistency to support our volunteers to have a positive experience within our sport.

The aim was to provide opportunities for officials who wish to be involved at club and local level meets, right through to those who wish to officiate at national and international meets.

Part Time Professionals supported the development of the Technical Officials Pathway and a suite of e-learning modules for the Inspector of Turn role.

“The online modules are designed to assist our community of new developing officials to learn the rules and role of an Inspector of Turns at the beginning of the technical officials journey. The modules are interactive to assist the learning process and embed the knowledge gained throughout with mini quizzes along the way. This interactive online learning platform will be complemented by practice on pool side to assist with growing a technical official's skills at competitions, with a practical assessment to complete the Inspector of Turns qualification.”
